In late 2011, Project REV participants gathered for a kick-off event in Kansas City where they met their Deluxe marketing mentors and advisors. At the event, each participant conducted a strategic analysis of their business and identified key challenges to tackle during Project REV 2012. Participants left the event armed with a preliminary marketing plan using the $15K they are receiving from Deluxe.
Next, each participant will finalize the 2012 marketing plan for their small business, and begin implementation.
As a small business owner, it’s hard to take time off – the company won’t run itself! While leaving for almost four days was a challenge, participating in an event that will immensely help my business made it all worth it. It was great to meet so many new people from such diverse small businesses and interesting to learn that most of us are facing similar issues.
At first, it felt as if everyone was speaking a different language. But by the time I left, I actually understood marketing lingo. I’m looking forward to putting my new knowledge to use in 2012.
