Tales of a Logo Redesign

As part of being a finalist for Project Rev, we get to select from of the many products and services that Deluxe offers.  My first priority was to get a new logo design.

My original logo (check it out at www.readysetgokits.com) is really more of a web header.  While there are many aspects of it that I love, as I’ve grown my business I’ve noticed some functionality problems.  With a web header that wide, it’s hard to put onto a business card or letterhead.  With a web header that tall, many visitors to my page see just my header and not as much of my products.

And trying to turn my web header into an avatar for my social media profiles was just impossible.  I needed a logo that could be more functional and was more like a logo than a web header.

So I was really excited to get started on a new logo with Deluxe’s Logo Mojo design service.

Problem was, I had no idea what I wanted.  I had no mental pictures, no firm ideas to offer them.

We started the process in July and went through all kinds of designs.  While I couldn’t articulate what I wanted, I could definitely articulate what I didn’t want.  We went through pages of designs.  We even picked a few and tried to modify them, trying to find something that I liked.

In October, I finally was able to articulate something that I did want: I wanted it to be a redesign.  I like the current colors and the current font style of my web header.  The new logo would have to incorporate either the colors or the font or both.

I’m now down to three choices and I’d love for your help in deciding.

Would you vote for your favorite logo design?

  2. Hey Amy,

Real quick, from a productions standpoint, Business Cards, Banners, Vehicle Graphics, etc. Less color’s are better, will save you money at some point, that is why I chose Logo 2.

    Good luck,

    Dallas

I love the red logo. I like how it incorporates the actual backpack into the design. I also like it because red is associated with “emergency”. Not to mention the fact that red has been proven to be a successful “branding” color! Good luck!

Amy, I vote for logo A.

The image used in A & B is nice and gives an immediate idea of your product. The color of A is lively and catches my eye.

Nice touch with the detail in the fonts.

    Best,

    Silvia
